Question: 2. Identify specific examples of ornamental design that were displayed at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and explain what you feel this approach to design may have said about 19th century British bourgeois society.

I think I’m the only person who questioned the authenticity of the bourgeois, rather than speak about how ‘oh, they’re obviously wealthy because the current world’s largest diamond was there’.

Fingers crossed.

Don’t rake up my mistakes; I know exactly what they are.
And what do you do? Well, you just SIT THERE.
I’ve been stabbed in the back, so many many times,
I don’t have any skin, but that’s just the way it goes.

Listening to the Beatles

I was on the train to Milton Keynes this morning, and I brought along my dear iPod to accompany me so I don’t drift off; I didn’t know it was that loud.

“Isn’t that weird?”, a passenger on the train says to his friend, tapping his feet.

“What’s weird, sorry?”, was his response.

“The Beatles.”, he said, “…they sang this song… that one… ‘I Should Have Known Better’ … yeah they sang it on a train in a Hard Day’s Night.”

“Oh yeah.”, replied his not-so-interested friend.

Q. Do you think the judges on X Factor vote for their acts?

Do you think I care whether they do or not? In fact, I couldn’t care less if they all imploded into a corporate, ego-filled, hypocritical mess, submerged in the gallons of make-up that they seem to coat themselves through amongst the capitalism and guilt.

I hope Joe wins though. Ha.

This is a different picture from the previous, but only just.
